I am writing a short book and self-publishing. How would I list Notes or References at the end and citing on pages within the book. For example: American psychological Association’s journal of Personality and Social Psychology, “Exploring Stereotypes About perceptions of Male Bodies,” MaWashington, D.C.

Manuscripts end with a list of all works cited, in alphabetical order by last name of first author. The exceptions are Standard Reference Works.

Book Notes. Notes Reference Sources REFERENCE SOURCES/BOOKS A reference source provides answers to brief facts, statistical information, background information, or documents you to additional information source.

The reference sources are standard works that are documents to locate specific type of information. As an example, let’s look in detail at the process of citing three particular sources in Chicago style: Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness (i.e., a book by one author), Project Gutenberg’s online text of the same book (i.e., an online book), and Notes online journal article about the book.

Note: These are treated like books if they are published, but like personal communication if they are your own notes or unpublished.

Citations and References Documenting your Sources In your lab reports you will typically use information from sources such as your textbook, lab manual, a reference book, and articles published in a science or engineering journal.
